Ruger 10/22 Build

A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a stock design for the 10/22 rifle, intended to be 3d printed. ChOrtex. Ran one off in ivory petg, since that’s what I had on the printer, just to see how it worked… and was really surprised. Fits well, extremely light… Decided to run one off in carbon fiber reinforced polymer. Stronger. No more ivory, please 😀

Today, I completed the build, well, almost. Enough that I could test fire it. I’d thought about a suppressed tube for it, but figured if I’m going to buy a suppressor, I want one I can move from rifle to rifle. Bought a TacSol Xring. Very light, threaded, not terribly expensive. Man, that thing fits tight. I froze the barrel for 2 hours, heated the receiver, and still had to wale on it with a rubber mallet to get it to seat.

Runs great, btw! Haven’t even sighted it in yet, but I dumped a mag through it real fast.

The red dot is off one of my other rifles, I want something more compact eventually. Probably a Venom. Have one on another 10/22, and really like it. I’ve got a Mars trigger on order, been on order for months now. At my repeated inquiry, they gave me a tracking number last week… carrier says it hasn’t been given to them yet. Sigh.

That folding stock is Zion arms, from Amazon. I have an actual Rim/Edge stock, from Tandemkross on another rifle. This is absolutely identical, in every way, only about half price.
